 Why is my mother so pink versus the frag? When taking a frag off the mother it no longer has the food source of the colony so some frags tend to brown out shortly after being made. The pink panther is  susceptible to that. Don’t expect to see the nice coloration to come back until it starts to branch. This is for the collector, it isn’t very hard to keep for tanks where the owner tracks and manages alkalinity and calcium but it’s a slow growing highly sought after collectible.
