LCH BAM BAM Extreme Zoas are our take on an old favorite turned up a few notches. Under reef lighting they can look almost like someone forgot to tell them corals aren’t supposed to glow in the dark.

The Bam Bam name has been around the zoa side of the hobby for years, but this strain is the one that makes us stop and look twice. It still has that familiar Bam Bam feel, just with enough extra attitude that “Extreme” didn’t seem like much of a stretch.

If you already know Bam Bams, this is the version we’d want sitting next to them in the tank.

Provide Moderate variable flow that keeps detritus from settling on the Zoas. Avoid constant direct current from the same direction in favor of random chaotic water movement.

Placement — Island

Placement of your LCH BAM BAM Extreme Zoas is one of the most important decisions.
This is where you’ll have to take lighting, flow, future growth and nearby corals into consideration.
Since it prefers 100 - 200 PAR range it will need to be mounted Island on your rock work depending on your light intensity.
Allow room for its Matting growth form, and consider neighboring coral colors and shape. When possible, use contrasting corals such as red next to green, blue next to orange, or yellow next to purple, and mix growth forms such as tall branching corals next to plating or encrusting corals.
